About the designer

I’m Sarah, an Australian-turned-British florist and the heart behind Love At First Sight Floristry. Instilling energy, romance and beauty into life’s celebrations through artful designs that reflect the changing seasons and wow the pants off you is a passion of mine, along with cake, cardigans and indi-folk sounds.

I have a liberated approach to design which makes my work rich and varied and I welcome creative briefs from people who can’t imagine their special day or event without knock-your-socks-off flowers. My intention is to create captivating, original work that delights you from the first glimpse, and to make the process of working with a florist enjoyable and memorable.

I work in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London and sometimes further afield if the stars align. My creations have been featured online and in magazines (remember those) in Britain and Australia and graced an ever-growing list of venues, but some favourite places to flower include:

  • Elmore Court

  • Fulham Palace

  • Luton Hoo

  • North Mymms Park

  • St. Stephen's Hampstead

  • Stoke Place

  • Syon Park

  • The Barn at Alswick

  • The Savile Club, Mayfair

I'm intrinsically green-thumbed and I'll forage in muddy fields, along country roads, embankments... (you get the idea) in pursuit of seasonal foliage and sometimes even roadside weeds to achieve that wild, whimsical, "Did it grow here overnight?" look.

Values and sustainability goals

My floral designs are temporal works of art which require creativity, technical know-how and seriously heavy lifting to create. Preparation for your event begins days in advance and work typically continues long after you and your guests have returned home. I source exceptional, on-trend blooms for every project (no naff 'filler flowers' here) and love buying from British growers whenever possible.

I avoid using floral foam and single-use plastics and have invested in foam-free mechanics that can be used again and again. All green waste is composed locally and all cardboard is recycled. If I find your guests didn't take every last bloom on their way out the door, I donate leftover flowers to a local charity, to spread the love. I sincerely appreciate my clients supporting these values and goals.
